Final Blog =]

Today I am wearing a black shirt with a pair of denim jeans and a scarf. I express myself with what i wear and how i do my hair. Its really whatever i feel comfortable in and how i feel in it. I haven't decided on what i might pick as my profession but i know that it will have something to do with cute clothes and heels. I think its my nature in a way because i have been in a family where all the females have been into modeling/fashion journalism/retail and so on. Its my family and trendy friends with different styles, that is my nurture. They all keep me going in wanting to be creative.
Social status and power i feel is important to everyone in some way. I don't think anybody wakes up thinkng "I hope im not recognized or complimented for something". Its important to teens because its all we have, our clothes, shoes, new technology, cars, and the fresh gossip. We need to feel like were needed in some way, or that we "fit" into some cliche some way.
I think that kids today are much different from our previous generations because our economy has too many new devices out. Our last generation became so lazy due to the new technology coming out that everyone relies on their GPS, Cellular, Computers, Palm Pilot, etc. to help accomodate them through the day. It has affected our younger generation, kids play LIVE NBA on xbox rather than going outside and playing a "real" game with kids their own age getting fresh air. Kids don't get enough interaction with other kids.
Males and Females are very different. Girls are more self concious and caring than boys. Girls care about what they wear, and how other people view them. Boys it seems don't care much. They are more aggressive and keep everything outside. Girls also have that innocence factor and boys don't. In Society a girl could talk her way out of a ticket(me). Boys on the other hand could not.

Social Construction of The Bronx

In class we watched The Bronx which was honestly in my top 5 movies i have watched at school, The neighborhood "C" grew up in is alot different from what were used to in BG. The people who lived in this area didn't depend on the cops for protection, they looked to Sonny, He is the "guy" to know. Everyone in the town was scared of him, he helped out when it was needed. For example, he would ask people to do things for him if they needed money. People didn't go against Sonny, and i think it was caused by all the racism that is in the area. I think that younger generation just by watching how Sonny's crew, followed on how they treated certain people and thought that it would be a good way to live and feel protected. Sonny was a guy to know if you need help but not one to mess around with. Society reacted by giving him free food, trying to put out a good word of themselves but at the same time keep a good distance away from them. Obviously things are alot different here, we don't have to worry about getting shot for a parking space at Stevenson.

FR3AKS & G33KS

It was interesting to see the different "clicks" that they had on Freaks and Geeks. I think we have groups at Stevenson, but there not split up like how they were on the show. Like, everybody has friends from all different groups, But they still have their own main friends. I don't classify myself as anything, especially not an athlete, i'd say im pretty average. I care about my grades alot, but i try not to let it stress me out. My friends say that i'm a little nerdy when it comes to topics i know really well. Overall, i woudl have to agree with everyone else, the faculty and staff have power at Stevenson.

2nd best thing...

Hola mis amigos, Im T@R!N. I'm a pretty outgoing person. I love laughing and im rarely ever in a bad mood. Even when i am going on like 2 hours of sleep, you will say im the most enthusiastic persona you know. I don't care about alot, and don't like to get mixed up in the drama, i feel like its a waste of time, no offense to those who love to live in it. Music is my life. I listen to everything basically, techno, Rap, R&B, Rock, but Pretty lights is my favvv though. I work like everyday at Century Theaters in Deer Park, its exhausting, but it has benefits, I see every movie so i stay pretty up to date. I dont really have a style, i just wear whatever i think is cute. I love life and the PATRIOTS!

First Day

The first day of school is supposed to make you nervous, anxious to see who is back, anticipating every moment before each new class. My first day in sociology with Smith was very unusual. Mine was a little nerve racking. Before walking in, I saw Smith standing at the door and shaking every student hand that walked into the room. Smith sat down on his desk, quietly, and sipped his water. Patiently, no facial expressions, barely making a sound, almost waiting for something to happen. The whole class was on their toes, noone had a clue what he was going to do or even doing for that matter. Nervous laughter and jokes started piling into conversations, almost like he was expecting something to happen. I think that he shakes hands because he wants you to know that he is happy to meet you and that you don't need to be scared, but i was really weirded out. Even though there were 20 or more in the class, im only one person, and i dont know you.
